Getting braces is not always at the top of everyone’s list of fun things to do, we know. But there are lots of fun things you can do to keep your journey to a greater smile more interesting and memorable. Take a look at the list below and maybe you’ll find something that gets your creative juices flowing!
Take a “Photo A Day” of Your Braces
Take one photo per day. Gather all the photos you’ve taken over your unique braces timeline, and create a slideshow or timelapse video to capture and watch your progress along the way!
Keep a Personal Braces Diary or Write down your thoughts and feelings about how your braces have impacted your “day-to-day” life. A funny story, a pesky food you should remember to avoid, or even a great checkup are all worth jotting down and sharing.
Create a Recipe Book with Braces-Friendly Food & Snacks
Having braces doesn’t mean you have to avoid your favorite foods. It simply means you might need to get a little more creative! Keeping a recipe book with soft foods for sore teeth, or your favorite foods “with a twist”, will not only keep those brackets and wires intact, but will really come in handy. It might even help you develop a taste for something delicious and new!
Plan Out Your Colors in Advance
Sometimes it’s difficult to decide which colors look best while in the chair at your appointment. Plan ahead, and decide the best color combinations to fit your personality, your favorite season, your school’s colors, or whatever you choose. Colored bands are a great way to make your braces unique and stylish!
Dream Up Ideas for Your Post-Braces Celebration
Have a favorite candy that’s just too sticky to eat with braces? Well, treat yourself to it, along with other food & snacks you’ve been missing out on while wearing braces. Make a grocery list of supplies you’ll need, and get ready to celebrate with that beautiful smile once you’ve said goodbye to your braces!
Do you have your own ideas for making your braces journey more memorable and exciting? Share them with other patients at Perelmuter & Goldberg Orthodontics on our Facebook page! We’d love to hear them!
